2020 architectural design workshop - freezing dynamics

教學方式著重從做中學習。課程分三部分,第一步透過城市速寫,提供學生相對應的透視圖學觀念,觀察自身所處的環境並發掘設計課題,作為設計策略的立足點,培養批判的眼界。第二步透過隨手可得的素材如竹筷,叉子,雪糕棒,吸管等組構出立體裝置,經由對材料加工組構過程,它可以是功能性的城市家具,或是藝術性的裝置藝術,其設計策略完全由學生對環境的觀察。第三步則是訓練學生用自己的作品述其所傳達的設計意圖,透過圖面,立體作品,綜合展示出完整的設計論述。

teaching style focuses on learning by making. the course is divided into 3 parts: firstly, students observe the surroundings and establish the statement for design issues by city sketching. Simultaneously, they would pick the knowledge of perspective graphic drawing and critical eyes. secondly, students learn to build 3-dimensional  sculpture by the common materials such as chopstick, fork, ice cream stick, straw. the design work could be a functional furniture or arty installation by the process of assemblage. the design strategy all depends on the environmental observation of the students. thirdly. students are trained to demonstrate their comprehensive design statement by drawings, 3-dimensional sculpture.
